Cargill intends to acquire Smet and boost gourmet chocolate offering

(MOUSCRON and KALMTHOUT, Belgium) March 4, 2019 – Cargill’s cocoa and chocolate business and Smet, a leading Belgium-based supplier of chocolate and sweets’ decorations to the food service and confectionary markets, announce their intention to bring together their global gourmet chocolate activities.

“The proposed acquisition emphasizes Cargill’s commitment to its customers in the gourmet segment as it builds on the strengths of both organisations and enhances complementary capabilities. Dankzij deze overname kan Cargill zijn gourmet chocolade-business verder uitbouwen.

 

(MOESKROEN en KALMTHOUT, België) 4 maart 2019 –  Cargills cacao- en chocolade business en Smet, een toonaangevende Belgische leverancier van chocolade- en decoratie ingrediënten voor de food service en zoetwarenmarkten, kondigen hun intentie aan om hun globale gourmet chocoladeactiviteiten samen te brengen.

 

“De voorgestelde overname benadrukt het engagement van Cargill met zijn klanten in het gourmetsegment en bouwt hiermee op de complementaire sterktes van beide organisaties.
