The Chocolate Straw

THE PROBLEM

new straw gazetten1 kranten

We use more than 500 Million Plastic Straws Every Day.
Many of those plastic straws end up in our oceans, polluting the water and harming sea life.

If we don’t act now, by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish.

The environment secretary, Michael Gove, has argued with a top EU official over proposals to ban plastic drinking straws. “Plastic straws are a scourge. They’re just one example of the ways in which we pollute the oceans and damage marine wildlife. I want to do everything we can to restrict the use of plastic straws and we’re exploring at the moment if we can ban them.”
